Bianca Long, Jaru Girl Fashion Designer was interviewed on ABC Kimberley Breakfast Radio on thursday 18th February, 2021. 'Hand painted designs, printed on fabrics, will be the backbone of a new fashion line created in the Kimberley. Bianca Long is a Jaru woman, from the Halls Creek area. Her connections to that traditional country has inspired her fashion dream of creating a clothing range for women, men and children. Kimberley town celebrates runway show debut in style
In a small room in the Kimberley town of Wyndham, the red carpet was laid out as models, hairdressers, photographers and designers showcased the first launch of the Indigenous fashion line JaruGirl. Bianca Long is a Jaru woman and the artist who painted the designs for the printed clothes. She's worked with fashion designer Linda Molendijk who makes the garments in Perth. The ABC's Hinako Shiraishi was at the weekend fashion show and spoke to some patrons, designers, hairstylists and models at the launch even. Click here to listen. |
